The mission of Northpoint Training Center (NTC) is to promote safety for the citizens of the commonwealth by operating an efficient, adult male, medium-security institution. Our main purpose is to provide a safe, secure, and humane environment for its residents and to prepare incarcerated felons for a successful reintegration into society through the use of constructive classification, education, employment training programs, and treatment services and social programs.

The Chaplain is an important team member that plans, coordinates, and conducts religious services and provides pastoral care to the inmates.

Requirements

• Graduate of a theological or divinity school with a master's or doctorate degree in divinity, theology or a related field.
• Must have certificate of ordination or denominational/ecclesiastical approval.
• The employee must provide the employing agency's appointing authority documentation of successful completion of a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program within six (6) months of employment in this job classification.
• Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification.
• Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Responsibilities

• Conducts or coordinates worship services.
• Coordinates volunteer services.
• Conducts or coordinates religious education classes.
• Provides pastoral care.
• Makes pastoral rounds.
• Counsels inmates and families.
• Coordinates funeral arrangements and bedside visits.
• Coordinates marriage arrangements.
• Prepares monthly reports.
• Maintains confidential files.
