About The Position

This Chaplain position at WI-St. Agnes Hospital is a PRN (as needed) role focused on responding to the emotional and spiritual needs of patients, family members, and fellow employees. The Chaplain participates as a member of a multidisciplinary care team. Key responsibilities include timely assessment, intervention, and communication to meet spiritual and emotional needs, collaborating with co-workers to achieve departmental goals, and responding to physician referrals on the same day. The role also involves contributing to a safe environment by reporting risks, intervening in crisis situations to provide support, and contributing to the department's financial performance by adhering to policies and working efficiently. The Chaplain is required to cover on-call shifts as assigned and maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One CPE unit required
  • One year experience

Responsibilities

  • Meets the spiritual and emotional needs of patients/families through timely assessment, intervention, and communication.
  • Collaborates with co-workers to accomplish departmental goals and offers assistance to balance workload.
  • Contributes to the satisfaction of the medical staff by responding to physician referrals in the same day they are received.
  • Contributes to a safe environment by reporting all safety/security risks.
  • Intervenes in crisis situations to provide support in navigating the initial spiritual and emotional issues for patients, families and co-workers.
  • Contributes to the overall financial performance of the department by following policies and procedures, working efficiently, and reporting needed changes.
  • Covers on call shifts as assigned.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
