Works under direction and requires considerable knowledge of religious principles and practices of a particular faith and clinical pastoral education Conducts worship services, sacramental observations and religious educational programs and/or pastoral counseling to inmates Plans and organizes sermons, bible studies and other chaplaincy programs Screens volunteers and other outside church groups Coordinates and schedules volunteer activities. Provides spiritual guidance and clinical pastoral education regarding personal, family and/or spiritual problems (e.g., death, confinement, substance abuse, cults, youth behavior) Ensures policy and procedure compliance by outside church groups Initiates and completes religious assessments in order to determine areas of spiritual needs and to coordinate activities with other treatment services. Attends meetings, seminars and conferences Meets with community religious leaders and/or resource personnel Maintains attendance and/or confidential records Attends annual training Serves on committee
