About The Position

Position Summary: The Chaplain provides direct care to patients and families, crisis/trauma support, death and dying support, advance directive education, cultural/spiritual/values/beliefs assessments as part of the interdisciplinary team of caregivers, ministerial functions, and spiritual counseling where patients, families, and staff are facing critical and stressful situations and/or personal adjustment to illness. The Chaplain collaborates with all members of Bozeman Health to provide excellence in patient spiritual care and emotional support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Completion of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE-ACPE)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality
  • Ability to work varied shifts
  • Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment
  • Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
  • The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct spiritual care for patients and families consistent with their belief systems
  • Provide support at time of death for patients and families
  • Education on advance directives when requested
  • Responds to emergency spiritual care needs, traumas, and deaths
  • Provides ministerial functions, sacraments, blessings, memorial services
