About The Position

The Chaplain Resident is the member of the team who is responsible for the spiritual component of the pastoral services for the hospital. This position functions as a competent pastoral care provider with the ability to relate cooperatively with patients, family members, peers and other hospital personnel while a participant in the clinical education program of Baptist Health Care.Incorporates a commitment to quality, which focuses on the needs of clients and families.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the design and implementation of all materials and assessment forms either distributed to families or used in assessment.
• Develops education programs and memorial services/rituals for staff/families on the spiritual components of loss/ethics as requested by the director.
• Participates in community and volunteer education programs.
• Develops, co-facilitates, and supervises bereavement groups for families and community clients as appropriate.
• Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
• May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
