The staff chaplain demonstrates a non-judgmental, non-anxious approach to patients, families, caregivers and staff in regard to their psychosocial, living and/or family situations, or life styles. Ability to establish effective professional and personal boundaries. Ability to accurately assess patient/ family spiritual needs in all aspects of care and respect individuality and differences. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with Interdisciplinary Teams regarding patient/family psychosocial needs, goals, and interventions. Must be flexible to conduct public Honor Red White and Blue ceremonies, chapel services and special events after hours and on weekends and holidays. Ability to facilitate support groups. Awareness of compassion fatigue. Ability to maintain positive mental awareness. Demonstrates adherence to the 'Common Code of Ethics for Chaplains, Pastoral Counselors, Pastoral Educators and Students'.
