About The Position

The Chaplain I position at CHOC provides direct spiritual care to patients, family members, and CHOC caregivers. This role emphasizes a compassionate and respectful spiritual presence, working collaboratively within the healthcare team to support the Spiritual Care Department's mission. The position is integral to enhancing the overall health and well-being of the pediatric population served by CHOC.

Requirements

• Minimum two (2) years of pastoral care experience required.
• Master's degree in Theology/Divinity/Spiritual Care and ecclesiastical endorsement required.
• Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required.
• Membership in the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or equivalent required.
• Ability for systematic and collaborative thinking required.
• Proficient with computer skills, including word processing and email required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
• Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure required.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of healthcare chaplaincy experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
