About The Position

The Chaplain at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego is a full-time role focused on providing spiritual care to patients and their families. Requirements

• Master's Degree in Theology, behavioral sciences, or equivalent (M. Div. preferred).
• Minimum of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education or must be an ordained Catholic priest.
• Training in psychology, spirituality, and clinical pastoral education.
• Professional knowledge of theological and bioethical issues.
• 1-2 years of experience in pastoral ministry within a healthcare facility.
• Knowledge of Christian and other belief systems.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Training in core patient care responsibilities for patient-focused units.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a multi-cultural healthcare environment.
• Additional certifications in spiritual care or counseling.
