About The Position

The position offers spiritual and emotional support directly to patients and their families, caregivers, and team members. The chaplain is responsible for assisting with the organization of daily activities as assigned. The work is typically performed in a clinical environment, and the chaplain is accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in a related field of study.
• Board Certified Chaplain within 3 years of hire date from the Association of Professional Chaplains.
• Ordination/Commissioning or Ecclesiastical Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a member of the team by attending interdisciplinary team conferences, support meetings, and other meetings as appropriate.
• Assesses each patient, family member, and caregiver for spiritual needs and concerns in consultation with other team members.
• Provides direct chaplaincy services to patients, family members, and caregivers of different philosophies and religious perspectives.
• Consults, if requested by patient or family, the patient’s clergy of choice and advises them on admission.
• Documents all visits and phone calls in the electronic medical record within an appropriate time frame.
• Provides consultation, counsel, and support to other team members as appropriate.
• Assists with training programs and in-service education as requested.
