About The Position

In this open and caring environment, you’ll lend spiritual care to chaplain residents, patients, families, volunteers and hospital employees. As a collaborative member of the healthcare team, the Chaplain/Certified Educator Candidate provides spiritual care for patients, families, volunteers, hospital and medical staff; participates in departmental and community relationships; performs duties in ways that promote organizational and departmental mission and values; engages in and completes all phases of the ACPE Certification Process; and provides Clinical Pastoral Education under supervision of an ACPE Certified Educator as outlined in the Certification Manual of the ACPE.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and Theological Degree or equivalent, e.g. M.Div., MTS, STM, etc.
  • Minimum 4 units of ACPE Certified Clinical Pastoral Education with demonstrated completion of all Level I and II outcomes for ACPE.
  • Ability to meet the entrance requirements for Certified Educator CPE as outlined in the ACPE Certification Manual.
  • Minimum: One year of direct spiritual care experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Spiritual perspectives and sensitivity to persons in stress.
  • Ability to listen well and speak with individuals and small groups.
  • Keen interest in clinical pastoral education.
  • Skill with interdisciplinary cooperation.
  • Excellent communication, systems and teaching skills.
  • Skill with interfaith cooperation.
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
  • Licensure Endorsement, by Judicatory or equivalent
  • Current Board Certification as a Chaplain by Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, Neshema: Association of Jewish Chaplains.
