The Chaplain Associate provides basic spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers under supervision, working within a multidisciplinary team to support whole-person care. This role involves assisting patients and their families in coping with psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual needs during times of illness, trauma, and stress, while maintaining a patient-centered attitude. The associate delivers timely and sensitive spiritual care through individual and group interactions, systematically gathering data for spiritual assessment, interventions, and outcomes. They are expected to promote teamwork, assist with advance directives and end-of-life resources, provide bereavement support, and participate in multidisciplinary rounds and ethics consultations. The position also requires responding to crisis situations and participating in on-call responsibilities, including pager coverage, and contributing to continuous quality improvement efforts.
