Job Description: Position Summary Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC), a nationally recognized tertiary academic medical center and home of the UMass Chan-Lahey Regional Medical School Campus, is seeking an accomplished physician leader to serve as Division Chair of Vascular Surgery. This is a highly visible, transformational leadership opportunity to define the strategic direction, clinical excellence, and continued growth of a premier vascular program serving Massachusetts and the broader region. The Division Chair of Vascular Surgery will lead the next era of clinical innovation, market expansion, and operational advancement. In close partnership with clinical and administrative leaders, this individual will guide strategic planning, operational performance, and day‑to‑day management, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient‑centered vascular care aligned with LHMC’s academic and regional mission. Key Areas of Focus Patient Focus Champion a culture of uncompromising quality, safety, innovation, and evidence‑based care. Drive superior clinical outcomes by integrating cutting-edge vascular surgical care, multidisciplinary collaboration, national guidelines, outcomes benchmarks, and continuous improvement initiatives. Enhance patient access and experience through operational efficiency, streamlined processes, and consistently high service standards. Collaborate closely with Quality and Safety to identify improvement opportunities and strengthen the patient and family experience. Operational Focus Lead the development and execution of operational and capital plans that support both current needs and future program expansion. Evaluate and elevate key performance metrics including patient access, satisfaction, outcomes, staff engagement, and financial performance Articulate and advance a compelling vision for the Division of Vascular Surgery aligned with LHMC and BILH strategic priorities. Foster a data‑driven culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous progress. Leadership Focus Building an academic program with commitment to research and surgical education. Encourage innovation and support initiatives that strengthen the division’s clinical capabilities and service delivery. Serve as a trusted clinical resource to colleagues, trainees, and multidisciplinary partners. Strengthen communication and integration across departments, clinical services, and community partners. Maintain active engagement in clinical and scientific developments to ensure the division remains at the forefront of innovation. Build strong partnerships across LHMC and BILH to support system-wide goals and integrated care models.
