About The Position

Requirements

  • Current rank of associate or full professor with eligibility for tenure.
  • Earned academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) from an accredited university.
  • Licensed PT or eligible for licensure in Texas.
  • Active membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Experience in effective administration of a university department, including curricular evaluation and design.

  • Record of scholarly excellence with publications and external funding.
  • Effective teaching experience at all levels, including online programs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Chief Executive of the Department of Physical Therapy.
  • Implement university, college, and department policies.
  • Develop, coordinate, and administer all academic programs and activities within the department.
  • Articulate the PT program's aspirations to internal and external constituents.
  • Develop and implement strategic goals for the department.
  • Promote research excellence and provide collaborative leadership.
  • Administer the department and physical therapy clinic, including budget management.
  • Lead matters related to accreditation, teaching schedules, and faculty recruitment.
  • Evaluate faculty and staff performance and support grant opportunities.
  • Advise students and formulate strategic plans and policies.
