The Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine ( JCESOM ) at Marshall University seeks exceptional candidates for the position of Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. The Department of Pediatrics is a large, multispecialty department comprising more than 16 pediatric subspecialties and hosting 65 pediatric providers, 21 general pediatric resident physicians, 8 internal-medicine pediatric resident physicians and 6 subspecialty fellows in neonatology, pediatric hospital medicine and developmental-behavioral pediatrics. The department provides high quality care to patients at Hoops Family Children’s Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Rivers Health and outpatient clinics across the region. The Chair oversees all operational and programmatic aspects within the Department of Pediatrics, including clinical, research and education activities. This includes managing budgets and resources, fostering the development and mentorship of faculty, providers, and trainees, and overseeing innovative models of health care delivery. The Chair also promotes excellence in patient care, supports educational initiatives and advances research and scholarly activity through grants, publications and presentations.
