About The Position

The CH47 Aircraft Mechanic I is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various aircraft systems, including structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, and engines. This role involves performing inspections, reading technical manuals, and using specialized tools to ensure aircraft safety and functionality. The mechanic will also supervise maintenance activities and may specialize in specific repair areas.

Requirements

• Valid up-to-date A&P license or three years of aviation maintenance experience with two years on rotary wing aircraft and two years on CH47.
• All experience must be within the last six years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization; US Citizenship required.
• Possess own shadowed/etched tools and toolbox.

• Good communication skills and adaptability in troubleshooting aircraft systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems principles.
• Knowledge of Quality Control, Production, and Supply procedures.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, and controls.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures and functional components using hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical data to determine repair methods.
• Perform various inspections including 100-hour, progressive, and periodic inspections on aircraft.
• Inspect and test engine operation using diagnostic equipment to locate malfunctions.
• Replace or repair worn or damaged components such as carburetors and alternators.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
• Supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Service engines and airframe components to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
