About The Position

The CFS Manager position is a leadership role. As a CFS Manager, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day service and support of Hub Group clients which are mid-tier consumer packaged goods manufacturers, as well as manage a team of Warehouse Account Managers. You will successfully manage many client relationships and manage an operations team focused on providing warehousing and distribution solutions. Our goal is to provide industry-leading client service and ensure superior and expeditious execution of client requirements. This role includes significant client interface responsibilities. As a CFS Manager, you’ll be part of the backbone of the daily operation at Hub Group.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3+ years of proven management experience.
  • 3+ years account management experience in distribution and logistics industry.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  • Sufficient familiarity with web-based tools.
  • Strong understanding of product distribution is desired, especially within CPG.
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage a team towards company goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with proven ability to inspire others to find creative solutions to challenging situations.
  • Strong talent for multi-tasking and managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Proven track record for implementing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Highly organized; attentive to details.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to identify and assess clients; needs, and to craft compelling solutions.
  • Self-directed, yet strong team player.
  • Travel may be required

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Warehouse Account Managers.
  • Manage daily core account management processes for all applicable accounts, including ad hoc and retail driven consolidation programs.
  • Monitor and isolate potential errors, issues, miscommunication, and sub-optimal performance by reviewing daily order level data; recommend improvement and implement changes based on results of research.
  • Ensure all managed accounts are documented and appropriately saved for ease of backup coverage. The documentation must detail any special requirements needed to continue the operational success of the account. This includes labeling, carrier requirements, ASNs, special reports, routing, and others.
  • Support implementation team during the launch of new accounts and programs.
  • Receive, analyze, and respond to a high volume of communication each day.
  • Manage the order process flow to contract specifications. Interact with various levels and departments within client organization.
  • Approve and track orders.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy. Responsible for accurate and timely order rating for applicable orders. Successfully manage client relationships with various levels and departments of the client team.
  • Understand client requirements for tracking, reporting, internal requirements for billing, and translate these into actionable requirements for IT development.
  • Work with Client Development Manager (CDM) to ensure the client is provided appropriate training and proper account set-up for efficient daily operations.
  • Understand how to deal with client shipment policies, carrier/consignee concerns, special handling instructions, etc.
  • Interface with Business Development, Client Development, and IT Departments to ensure all changes in product lists, EDI, configurations, pricing, etc. are properly set up for current accounts and be intimately involved with any changes that may occur over the life of an account.
  • Enable ways to use the client website output to validate, analyze and manage product line business data to support effective product and business decision making for all accounts.
  • Work closely with finance and accounting to close month end books, look for profitability/revenue trends, examine potential operational/financial pitfalls, raise questions on past performance and future results of account profitability.
  • Understand operational challenges with current consolidation programs.
  • Implement improvement initiatives with partner warehouses, internal Human Resources departments, and retailers to cut lead-time, costs, and complexity.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by company.
