The Fabrication Lead will supervise the daily production activities of a team of Fabrication Associates following the SQDC methodology (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost) as established by the OES CFS business for the Howick machines. Supervisory Responsibilities: · Supervising a small group of Fabrication Associates while providing hands on leadership. This includes Roll Forming, Material Handling and Inventory activities. Duties/Responsibilities: · Implement good housekeeping standards and ensure all team members follow company guidelines and policies. · Responsible for achieving production output within the budgeted allowances for labor hours and material use. · Maintain daily time keeping for all team members. · Train new team members and continuous training and cross training of current team members · Review fabrication drawings for areas of improvement and or missing information needed for shop production. · Manage the material handling associates for timely material supply. · Responsible for inventory control of the coil used in roll forming. Required Skills/Abilities: · Background in steel stud framing, drywall, and exterior finishes. · Blueprint reading proficiency. · Ability to properly redirect personnel to areas of shop to meet ever changing project priorities. · Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. · Familiarity with lean Fabrication and continuous improvement methodologies preferred. · Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Education and Experience: · High school diploma preferred. · 2+ years in a supervisory capacity with disciplinary responsibility. · Experience in construction and/or Fabrication environment. Physical Requirements: · Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling. · Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, including safely lifting overhead. · Occasional periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
