About The Position

This role provides an opportunity for an experienced finance executive to partner with high-growth startups in the digital health and healthcare IT space. As a CFO consultant, you will work closely with CEOs, management teams, and investors to shape financial strategy, drive operational efficiency, and enable growth initiatives. You will lead financial planning, reporting, and fundraising processes, while providing insight and foresight to help companies scale sustainably. The position combines strategic advisory with hands-on execution, from modeling and board presentations to operational finance leadership. You will act as a trusted partner, helping startups navigate complex financial decisions and optimize performance. This role is ideal for someone with deep financial expertise, operational experience, and a passion for supporting innovative ventures.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of finance and operational experience, preferably in digital health, healthcare IT, or Friendly PC/MSO models
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and finance platforms (e.g., QBO, Carta)
  • Experience in strategic financial planning, fundraising, board reporting, and investor relations
  • MBA or CPA preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to advise and support startup founders and fast-growing companies
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and follow-through skills
  • Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills to influence executives and investors
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently
  • Integrity, attention to detail, and persistence in achieving financial and operational objectives

Responsibilities

  • Develop insightful and adaptable financial models to support strategic decision-making and growth planning
  • Provide financial strategy recommendations and present analyses to CEOs and executive teams
  • Prepare and deliver the finance section of client Board meetings, and attend sessions to address financial inquiries
  • Lead fundraising efforts including round sizing, cap table modeling, pitch deck preparation, investor introductions, and participation in investor meetings
  • Oversee operational finance functions for PC/MSO models, including budgeting, forecasting, KPI dashboards, close processes, and board/investor reporting
  • Manage structure economics and compliance, including MSO service agreements, intercompany billing, provider compensation, and practice unit economics
  • Drive operational efficiency and scalability through revenue cycle optimization, cash planning, vendor management, and internal controls
  • Maintain high client satisfaction through effective communication, responsiveness, and performance outcomes
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and make appropriate introductions for complementary services
