In this role, you will be a valuable part of Ford’s Research and Advanced Engineering organization, delivering next-generation of electric drive units, transmissions, axles that offer improved performance and efficiency for the customer. Your work will support R&A technology development by analyzing systems and design. This role is expected to optimize designs to exceed customer expectations, delivering performance, reliability at the lowest cost. You will work with major design engineers, identifying areas of improvement.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in Modeling, CAE analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience directly related to CFD modeling.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate analysis, with the experience to select modeling parameters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to turn analsyis data into clear decisions and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a diverse team
  • Hands-on test experience related to fluid system analysis.
  • Deep experience with eDrivetrain/Transmission/Driveline operation.
  • Experience with Model Validation with hardware test results.

Responsibilities

  • Complete 1D system models using AMESim and other similar analysis tools.
  • Complete CFD analysis using Starccm, Simerics and other similar tools.
  • Identify design inefficiencies and propose design improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers in Research and Product Development, by working with other teams and coordinating with common modeling practices.
  • Support design reviews between various organizations within Ford Motor Company.
  • Deliver transferable work products to the Product Development Team that is applicable for a production program.
