We are seeking a self-motivated Certifying Scientist to join our Lab Operations team at Cordant Health Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and certifying final results of various drug testing procedures. This includes entering quality control data, determining procedures for handling inconsistent or indeterminable results, and preparing necessary documentation. You will also perform maintenance on platforms used for confirmatory results, which includes preparation of solutions, troubleshooting, and cleaning of the testing platforms. The position requires a commitment to quality and efficiency, ensuring that all testing protocols are followed accurately to provide reliable results for our clients. As a Certifying Scientist, your primary responsibilities will include the initial and final review of confirmation data from Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometer (LC/MS/MS) instrumentation, loading prepared samples onto confirmation equipment, and providing feedback to the maintenance team regarding assay integrity and performance. You will be expected to perform start-up and daily maintenance of LC/MS/MS equipment, as well as minor troubleshooting as needed. Your role will also involve applying your knowledge and skills to produce quality work while meeting turnaround time goals and minimum productivity requirements. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with co-workers, managers, and other supervisors to solve work-related problems and address questions or issues that arise daily. You will need to follow work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals, respond to fluctuating workloads, and improve the quality and productivity of laboratory operations. Additionally, you will participate in safety training and adhere to laboratory guidelines, including hazardous materials and waste handling, life safety, medical equipment safety, accident reporting, and security protocols. Training others on equipment, software, and laboratory operations will also be part of your responsibilities, along with any other duties as assigned.
