About The Position

Gold's Gym Montrose is looking for experienced yoga instructors to join our team. The Yoga Instructor will lead members, in a group environment, through a pre-arranged format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength and mobility, while ensuring that the safety of the members is not compromised. The Yoga Instructor will also serve as a resource to educate members on various aspects of mind and body. When an Instructor joins the team at Gold's Gym Montrose, they tend to stay for years, so selecting a new teacher is something we take seriously. We love bringing new people into our family and continuing to grow in new and different directions!

Requirements

• 200 hour Yoga Certification.
• At least six months teaching in a group exercise format.
• Knowledge of safe exercise technique and group exercise principles.
• Knowledge of basic physiology and body mechanics.
• Performance of a variety of exercise routines.
• Positive and effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot audio equipment.
• Instructors with specialized skills must provide verifiable proof of education.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at class location 10 to 15 minutes ahead of scheduled start time to interact with members and answer questions.
• Know participants on an individual basis and have a good sense of their fitness capabilities.
• Wear appropriate fitness attire and Gold's Gym branded attire when possible.
• Prepare appropriate music for class and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly.
• Introduce yourself and the format of the class.
• Assess fitness levels of first-time participants in a private manner.
• Ensure all verbal instructions are clear and conducive to learning.
• Monitor participants to ensure correct form and offer variations for different fitness levels.
• Create a motivational and fun environment for all participants.
• Remove all music and return microphone to proper place after class.
• Ensure room is in order for the next class.
• Answer questions and solicit feedback from participants.
• Ensure class begins and ends promptly.
• Find a qualified substitute if unable to fulfill a scheduled class.
• Attend all required staff meetings.
• Follow proper time recording procedures.
• Prepare incident and/or witness reports as necessary.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
• Promote Gold's Gym and GGX.
