Position Summary: The Wound Care Nurse provided wound consultation and care to patients throughout the organization, including all inpatient departments. The position focus is to facilitate appropriate skin and wound care, educate staff, participate in ongoing efforts to improve skin and wound outcomes throughout the organization and to improve availability of wound care services within the organization.

Requirements

  • Requires Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.
  • CEU’s related to Wound Care and/or Adult Education.
  • Requires, minimum two years direct patient care experience.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires g ood time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with current MCH Wound Care Program.
  • Demonstrated teaching skills.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
  • Requires current State of California Board of Registered Nursing license
  • Requires Certified Wound Care Provider Certification (WOCNCB)
  • Requires current American Heart Association BCLS certification
  • Requires American Heart Association ACLS

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Previous experience as Nurse Preceptor or Nurse Educator preferred.
