About The Position

Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater Northeast, laboratory in Derry, NH is currently hiring for the position of Certified Water Operator. The position will complete routine drinking water system equipment checks and perform drinking water sample collection at small public water systems throughout the state of NH. Additional duties would include, regular maintenance and monitoring of water system components, and communication with both clients and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) and helping clients to maintain compliances with NHDES requirements for a public drinking water system. Position is based out of Derry, NH with service locations throughout New Hampshire This position is full time Monday-Friday 8:00am- 4:00pm with OT as needed. Compensation is $21-25/hour plus benefits offered after 30 days.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record to drive company vehicle.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • A valid New Hampshire water works operator license or the ability to obtain one within one year.
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle for periods of up to 1 - 1.5 hours at a time.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, at time lift 70lbs
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read maps and diagrams.
  • Safely operating a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible with daily schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or bachelors degree in the sciences preferred.
  • Prior experience in the drinking water industry is preferred.
  • Treatment installation, well and pump services, operational services etc.

Responsibilities

  • Collect drinking water samples for small public water systems and residential clients filling out the appropriate chain of custody paperwork.
  • Review NHDES master sampling schedules to ensure all required testing is completed on time.
  • Plan driving routes to efficiently service multiple clients and locations each day.
  • Transport samples back to the primary laboratory and base of operations in Derry NH.
  • Complete routine data collection and equipment checks for small public water system clients.
  • Safe driving to and from job sites.
  • Regularly communicate actions and information regarding public water system equipment conditions to direct manager.
