About The Position

Mountain View Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our busy practice in Central Point, Oregon. Experienced CVT preferred but willing to train the right person! Starting Salary: $21 – 25 per hour, depending on experience education, certifications and licensure Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts. Looking to fill Monday-Thursday now with potential Friday-Sunday shifts in 2026. Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) in Oregon required – or ability to obtain/transfer license within 3 months of hire
  • Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint

Nice To Haves

  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred
  • 3 years’ experience as a veterinary technician or assistant in a veterinary clinical setting preferred
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Exotic and pocket pet experience a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
  • Perform basic exam procedures
  • Skilled in venipuncture and Intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
  • Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
  • Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting
  • Confident with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique, recovery)
  • Perform medical math, accurately calculate, draw up and administer drugs
  • Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); automated in-house machines
  • Excellent client communication/education
  • Ability to perform Technician appointments independently, including accurate medical record documentation
