About The Position

Palma Sola Animal Clinic is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician with strong surgical experience, including multiparameter monitoring and dentistry. The clinic is dedicated to providing exceptional care to pets in the Bradenton area, emphasizing a supportive environment for its team members. The role involves assisting veterinarians, providing nursing care, operating diagnostic equipment, interacting with clients, and maintaining records. The clinic offers a work-life balance with no weekend shifts, allowing team members to enjoy the local Bradenton area, known for its beaches and outdoor activities.

Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician within the state of Florida, or an experienced veterinary technician working toward your license in the next 6 months.
  • Ability to handle animals with care, even the stressed-out ones.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling tasks like a pro.
  • Comfortable using veterinary software for records and documentation.
  • Physically fit to handle animals of all sizes- up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, procedures, and surgeries, ensuring all equipment and supplies are prepared and ready.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
  • Perform various laboratory tests, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and diagnostic imaging.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalized and recovering patients, including wound management, IV catheterization, and fluid therapy.
  • Educate pet owners on post-operative care, medication administration, and disease management.
  • Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment.
  • Communicate with pet owners, explain treatment plans, providing updates on patient status, and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Educate clients on preventive care, nutrition, and proper handling techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories.
  • Ensure timely and complete documentation in accordance with veterinary standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, other veterinary technicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and client service.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to veterinary assistants and other team members.
