Requirements

  • Experience as a Veterinary Technician.
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Ability to perform technical skills related to anesthesia and patient monitoring.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Emergency and Specialty Medicine.
  • Advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals and critical case management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Monitor anesthesia, troubleshoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions.
  • Perform intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance.
  • Conduct physical exams; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
  • Understand normal vital parameters and alert doctor when abnormal.
  • Set up intravenous fluids and CRI’s.
  • Expand knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.
  • Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
  • Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
  • Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
