Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT).
  • Strong communication skills and good judgment.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Veterinary experience and knowledge of aseptic techniques.
  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of advanced diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Familiarity with client education and communication strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient examinations and auscultation of heart and lung sounds.
  • Determine normal/abnormal TPRs and QATS.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and educate them on medical histories and symptoms.
  • Perform laboratory procedures including hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals.
  • Assist in diagnostic imaging and implement safety protocols for staff.
  • Prepare and maintain the surgical environment to ensure asepsis during procedures.
  • Monitor anesthesia and perform endotracheal intubation.
  • Administer medications via various routes (PO/IV/SUBQ/IM) and maintain bandages.
  • Provide high-quality physical and psychological care to hospitalized patients.
  • Perform dental prophylaxis and manage pharmacy and pharmacology tasks.
