About The Position

As a key member of the faculty, the Certified Teacher Interventionist reports directly to the Administration and is responsible for creating an exceptional educational experience. This role involves cultivating an effective classroom that promotes high student achievement and fosters a climate of openness, fairness, mutual respect, support, and inquiry. The interventionist will design and deliver grade-level appropriate learning experiences through active learning, hands-on application, and rich discussions. They will utilize both formal and informal assessment strategies to maximize student achievement, modify instructional approaches as needed, and collect data for continuous improvement. The position requires close collaboration with a supportive team to develop shared lesson plans, establish measurable goals for student achievement, and contribute to a positive school culture. The interventionist will actively participate in professional learning communities and attend development opportunities to enhance skills, while also instilling a strong independent and collaborative work ethic in students. Maintaining accurate digital gradebooks and regular communication with parents regarding student progress are also key. Ensuring a safe and organized environment is critical, involving precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities, and assisting administration in implementing school policies, including maintaining classroom order and overseeing paraprofessionals and volunteers. The role also requires continuous improvement of professional competence by attending meetings and serving on staff committees, as well as maintaining accurate records and adhering to all required educational plans and school policies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent with Florida Teacher Certification.
Knowledgeable and experienced with the MTSS process.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience preferred.
Reading Endorsement or Reading Certification preferred for working with Tier 3 reading groups.

Responsibilities

Gather, organize, and interpret assessment data to determine intervention groups.
Utilize best practice instructional strategies and CSA approved research-based intervention curriculum materials to meet the learning needs of identified students.
Model the use of intervention strategies to general and special education teachers.
Analyze existing student achievement data and administer student assessment and progress monitoring instruments as needed to aid in progress monitoring of students.
Provide professional development on intervention strategies.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, building administrator, and parents about student progress.
Maintain accurate student records, parent communication records and student progress data reports as required.
Attend professional development opportunities that promote improved instructional strategies and support researched-based resource material needed to implement the intervention program successfully and support/maintain professional growth.
Keep records of lesson plans, and records of students’ performance.
Coordinates data collection as it relates to MTSS.
Provide Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 intervention lessons with fidelity.
Reviewing cases in preparation (MTSS packet) for determining eligibility for ESE services.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and school administrators on completion of MTSS paperwork to reflect student’s progress.
Be prepared for all intervention groups with CSA approved resources that match the student’s intervention plans.
Attend all data-based problem-solving meetings, MTSS meetings and parent meetings that are focused on the students you serve.
Works with MTSS Coordinator Kerin Casey to ensure MTSS packets are ready prior to ESE eligibility meetings.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may from time-to-time assign.
