About The Position
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides technical and clinical support to the perioperative team during a variety of surgical procedures. Performs duties as the primary scrub person by handling instrumentation, supplies and equipment. Anticipates the surgeon and procedural needs. The Nursing Support (NS) colleague (uncertified, certified, unlicensed, or licensed) provides safe, quality health care services & / or assistance to patients under the supervision & direction of a registered nurse or other designated health care professional in accordance with level of experience, education, policies & procedures. Requirements
- Graduate of an approved medically based and/or certificate program in Surgical Technology
- Participates in orientation, annual competencies, continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge/skills related to specific areas of expertise as applicable, including but not limited to: Spine Surgery Program Shoulder Surgery Program Hip & Knee Replacement Program Stroke Wound Care
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Demonstrates manual dexterity and ability to handle equipment and instruments.
- Ability to work effectively in task-oriented situations.
