Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate, within 90 days of hire
  • Surgical Technician Certification by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
  • Surgical Technician Certification by National Center for Competency Testing

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Operating Room: Ensure the operating room is sterile, set up with the necessary surgical tools, and ready for surgery.
  • Assist During Surgeries: Work alongside surgeons and nurses to provide direct support during surgical procedures, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Create a Meaningful Impact: Be at the forefront of patient care, directly contributing to the success of surgeries and the well-being of our patients.
  • Handle Surgical Instruments & Equipment: Be responsible for the proper handling and maintenance of surgical instruments, ensuring everything is functioning and sterile before use.
  • Monitor Patient Safety: Assist in positioning patients on the operating table and ensuring they are properly prepared for surgery, maintaining their safety throughout the procedure.
  • Sterilize Equipment: Clean, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments and equipment for use, following strict infection control protocols.
  • Document Procedures: Accurately record patient information, surgical instruments used, and other essential details for the medical record.
  • Assist with Patient Recovery: After surgery, help in transferring patients to recovery rooms and ensure they are comfortable and monitored.
