As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech you will: Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed. Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms. Previous Or experience required 6month-1yr Surgical tech experience required Day to Day duties: Scrub on all cases. Ortho heavy Dept. totals/trauma/ sports Medicine. Spine, Ortho Spine w/navigation (STEALTH,7D), Podiatry, Plastics, Endo, Cysto, Urology, GI, Robotics (DaVinci XI/MAKO, ROSA), Gen, ENT, Hands GYN, Urology. Associates are cross trained for all services, no specialized service Teams. Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations. Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases. Maintain Sterile field during procedures. Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs. Maintaining and updating preference cards. 10 OR Suites +1 Cysto Room+1minor procedure room Approx. 600-700+ cases per month Schedule Per policy PRN requires a Min availability for 40hrs in a 6 week schedule block and 2 holidays per yr. TBD during interviews with OR Manager. Call not required but may be able to pick up extra shifts if available

Requirements

  • Basic Computer skills required.
  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required
  • Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado.
  • A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech required
  • Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
  • Experience in a specialty field preferred.
