About The Position
Functions as a scrub person for surgical cases Assists the RN in providing care to patients of all ages undergoing surgical procedure.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED preferred
- Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from the Association of Surgical Technologists required or must be qualified to sit National Certification Exam
- If not certified, must pass Certification Exam within twelve(12) months of employment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency situation
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with patients
- Ability to accurately and promptly communicate with peers, supervisors, and physicians
- Successful course completion in Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Annual completion of “Unit Specific” Competency requirements as delineated in unit specific competency tool
