The Certified Surgical Technologist III is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse according to the accepted clinical standards of care.
Requirements
- High School Grad or Equiv Required
- Technical/Vocational School Required
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Cert Required
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Required
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Required
Responsibilities
- Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
- Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
- Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
- Obtains scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
- Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.
