About The Position

Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney disease. With this exciting opportunity you will be joining a seasoned team of 65 Physicians and Advanced Practitioners, as well as 130+ team members across eight office locations. We are looking for a dynamic Per Diem and/or Full Time Certified Surgical Technologist to join our growing team at our surgical center. This is a challenging, fast-paced job. Surgical Center hours Monday – Saturday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Shifts will be within the Center hours. Job Summary: We are looking for a dynamic Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our growing Ambulatory Surgical Center team. The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is a vital member of the surgical team responsible for assisting in surgical operations. The CST prepares the operating room, arranges equipment, and helps surgeons and nurses during surgery by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Current certification through NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting).
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent).
  • Nevada State license/registration as a Certified Surgical Technologist (required by many facilities in Nevada).
  • Proficiency in sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of surgical tech experience in a hospital or ASC setting.
  • Experience in multiple specialties (e.g., orthopedics, cardiovascular, neurosurgery).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterile and ready.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
  • Maintain the sterile field and adhere to aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures in compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures and state and federal regulations
  • Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure accuracy.
  • Clean and restock the operating room after procedures.
  • Reprocess surgical instruments
  • Adhere to safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned
