This position is responsible for providing competent perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. The Certified Surgical Technologist, Trauma OR will function as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures. The position works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory. The position must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served as well as knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • 3+ years of Main OR experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provide competent perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation.
  • Function as scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures.
  • Support other service lines as needed.
