About The Position

Primary responsibility involves performance of specific tasks, as a scrub technologist in an operating room. Assists with the maintenance of surgical instruments, supplies and equipment. Maintains positive customer relations. Shall demonstrate competency and possess the technical skills appropriate for his/her assigned cases and utilizes that knowledge in assisting others. Requirements

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology.
• 0-6 months experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with the Perioperative Team Manager, Primary Nurse and/or Specialty Tech regarding changes to surgeon preference sheets, case cart sheets, and service manuals based on surgeon requests and current practice and knowledge.
• Is available to the Perioperative Team Manager and Daily Operations Manager for assignment as needed to meet the operational needs of Perioperative Services.
• Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of the patient.
• Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.
• Provides a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patients, and is able to recognize emergency situations and institutes established corrective actions.
• Exhibits knowledge of care and use of all equipment, instruments and supplies used for surgical procedures.
• Displays dexterity in the use of surgical instruments and knowledge of step-by-step procedures for specific surgical interventions and recognizes the importance of teamwork, consideration, and cooperation.
