The position involves performing a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. Responsibilities include preparing patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards, maintaining aseptic techniques, and actively monitoring situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. The role also requires providing comfort and support for pre-operative patients, transporting patients to and from the Operating Room suite, positioning patients according to the type of surgery, identifying and caring for biological specimens, and preparing the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case.
