About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist I prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures, following hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patients during pre-operation procedures. This position involves working night shifts, specifically 12-hour shifts, and is part-time, requiring 48 hours per pay period.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required
• Previous Operating Room experience preferred
• Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required
• BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KMC BLS within 60 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment
• Works primarily in one specialty
• Typically reports to a registered nurse
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
