About The Position

ISO Workforce Alliance is currently seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant (CSTFA) to support surgical teams at a healthcare facility in Illinois. The ideal candidate will have strong operating room experience and the ability to provide skilled assistance to surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures. This role requires a highly motivated professional committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient care, surgical precision, and safety.

Requirements

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant (CSTFA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assisting in General Surgery
  • Experience assisting in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Experience assisting in Endoscopic procedures
  • Experience working in high-volume surgical centers

Responsibilities

  • Function as a Surgical First Assistant during surgical procedures
  • Assist the surgeon by exposing the surgical site, controlling bleeding, suturing, and handling tissue as directed
  • Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies
  • Support the operating room team in maintaining sterile technique and infection control standards
  • Assist with preoperative preparation and intraoperative procedures to ensure smooth surgical workflow
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support surgical team communication throughout procedures
