Join a surgical team at the forefront of cardiovascular care! Are you a Surgical Technologist who thrives where precision, teamwork, and purpose intersect? Logan Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist | CVOR to join our high-performing Operating Room team. This is more than a scrub role — it’s an opportunity to be an essential surgical partner in some of the most complex and life-saving cardiovascular procedures we perform. From meticulous sterile field preparation to anticipating the surgeon’s next move, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care in a fast-paced cardiovascular operating room.

Requirements

  • Graduates of approved Surgical Technologist programs or military training.
  • Surgical Technologists with 2+ years of scrub experience and demonstrated proficiency in CVOR procedures.
  • Team-oriented professionals with excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologist (AST) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); must be successfully obtained within two (2) years of hire onto the CV team required.
  • Graduate of an approved school of Operating Room Technologists or military trained required.
  • Current BLS CPR required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task in an ever changing workload environment.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospital experience with skills in a variety of cases performed preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a skilled surgical team to support surgeons during life-saving procedures.
  • Utilize your expertise to maintain a sterile field, anticipate surgical needs, and ensure efficient intraoperative support.
  • Play a critical role in preoperative patient preparation and intraoperative care, working closely with healthcare providers to deliver top-tier patient care.
  • Showcase your proficiency across multiple service lines, contributing to complex, high-stakes cardiovascular surgeries.
  • Responsible for the sterility of supplies and the smooth efficient flow of the CV surgical procedures.
  • Accurately selects all equipment and supplies needed for CV surgical cases.
  • Assists with set up in CVOR Suite for specific CV surgeries while accurately following the preference card.
  • Exhibits an excellent working knowledge of surgical asepsis and recognizes and verbalizes breaks in techniques.
  • Anticipates the surgeon’s needs and reacts accordingly.
  • Efficiently passes the appropriate instrumentation, sutures and supplies to surgeons and/or assistant.
  • Exhibits a commitment to professionalism while undertaking and completing all departmental competencies.
  • Accurately sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and solutions as needed for procedure.
  • Exhibits proper usage of surgical drapes to cover patients.
  • Maintains and exhibits highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
  • Assists as directed in cutting sutures and keeping track of items such as sponges, needles, etc.
  • Assists with the preparation and disposal of lab specimens as directed.
  • Assists team members with cleaning of room.
