About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) assists surgeons, nurses, and other surgical team members during operative procedures in an outpatient surgical setting. The role involves preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile environments, and ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are properly organized and available.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience within the specialty.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Ophthalmology surgical experience required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other surgical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
  • Set up operating rooms with surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist surgeons and surgical staff during procedures.
  • Anticipate surgical team needs and provide instruments and materials accordingly.
  • Ensure proper handling, sterilization, and organization of surgical instruments.
  • Follow infection control policies and sterile techniques.
  • Maintain accurate documentation as required by facility protocols.
  • Support efficient workflow within the surgical team.
