About The Position

The Surgical Technologist administers intra-operative care to patients within the surgical/operating room environment. Care is provided in collaboration with anesthesia, surgeons and other staff members. Under the supervision of the OR RN, Supervisor/Manager/Director, the Surgical Technologist: • Integrates physiologic, medical, surgical, and anesthetic information to give appropriate patient care. • Uses the principles of asepsis to assist the surgeon in the maintenance of the sterile field, providing for optimal patient care in the OR • Effectively functions in the sterile environment, demonstrating knowledge and ability in performing the role of first scrub on all assigned surgical cases. • Cares for surgical patients of all ages and all levels of acuity. Additional Job Description Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or surgical technology military program and a minimum of one year of work experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist required. The Level II practitioner demonstrates a higher level of critical thinking and problem solving skills and has met the Level I Certified Surgical Technologist criteria. Credentialed as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (formerly LCC-ST) required and must be maintained. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or surgical technology military program
  • Minimum of one year of work experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist required.
