Requirements

Certification(s): Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required; BLS required
Excellent communication skills required
High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle fluid changes
Team work and leadership is essential

Nice To Haves

Experience in an ambulatory setting preferred

Responsibilities

Oversees surgeon’s office practice, schedules surgeries, and handles patient phone calls
Works closely with outside surgical facilities on orders, pretesting, and H&P’s
Assists surgeon with scheduled and call cases
Washing & wrapping instruments
Assist surgeon with FMLA/STD paperwork
Flexibility to float with other surgeons or fill in as needed
Comply with clerical needs in the office
Manages the insurance authorization process with patient’s insurance
Shares responsibility for stocking office exam rooms / procedure rooms
Follow guidelines of HIPAA in maintaining patient confidentiality
