About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and performs delegated functions. Assumes responsibility to assist the surgeon by preparing and handling instruments, supplies, and equipment to maintain an aseptic environment through specific techniques and practices. He/she adheres to policy and procedures, observes Universal Precautions and is responsible for meeting the Standards of Care. Patient age may be from neonate to geriatric. Completes a competency skills checklist within 90 days of employment.

Requirements

• Graduate from high school or equivalent program.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Current certification by the NCSTSA, AST, NCCT or NCCSA required.
• Minimum 1 year in an acute care setting in Neuro and Spine required.
• DaVinci experience required.
