About The Position

This job coordinates the preparing and sterilizing the operation rooms, as well as the necessary equipment and instruments, prior and at the completion of any surgical procedures as well as assisting Surgeon during procedures. The job reports to Director of Surgery.

Requirements

• A graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program and surgical technologist certification.
• Experience with instrumentation.
• Current BLS.
• Strong understanding of surgical technology and surgical procedure.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Preparing operating rooms for surgeries, sterilizing equipment and instruments to maintain sterility standards.
• Stocking and tracking of surgical supplies to ensure items are available for all surgical procedures.
• Providing support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies resulting in completion of procedure to highest standard.
• Staying up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures to support updating ARON standards.
• Communicate and work well with surgeons, surgical assistant, nurses and general surgical team to provide best patient care possible.
