About The Position

Requirements

• Previous experience in an applicable field - preferred
• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technology OR completed appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the U.S or in the US Public Health Service
• If not meeting the aforementioned requirements: was employed to practice Surgical Technology in a health care facility before 9/1/09
• Surgical Technologists that graduate after September 1, 2009 must hold and maintain a current certification as a Surgical Technologist within 180 days from the date of graduation
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist if experience is less than 5 years - preferred

Responsibilities

• Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures
• Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety
• Providing instruments, equipment, and hands-on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures
• Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly
• Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient-centered care and a seamless surgical experience
