About The Position

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center seeks a Certified Surgical Technician or a Licensed Practical Nurse with knowledge of the OR. Under the direct supervision of a board certified surgeon, the tech is required national surgical technician certification within 3 months after completion of program of graduation or for a PN completion from accredited school of nursing and obtaining Practical Nursing licensure in state of Vermont.

Requirements

• Successful graduation from a national certified surgical technician program required or successful graduation from accredited practical nursing program required, but may work in the OR assisting medical team while actively enrolled in a surgical technician program only.
• Prior nursing assistant or OR Tech experience preferred
• CST certification required within 90 days of hire or Vermont State Licensed Practical Nursing Diploma required.
• BLS required within 90 days
