About The Position

Essential Responsibilities Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for procedures. Set up the operating room, including sterile drapes, solutions, and instrumentation. Ensure compliance with Surgical Center policies, regulations, and industry standards. Perform pre-operative preparation of patients, including skin preparation and positioning. Assemble, inspect, and adjust sterile and non-sterile equipment to ensure proper function. Assist with patient transport to the operating room and proper positioning on the surgical table. Apply sterile draping and maintain the sterile field throughout the procedure. Monitor patient information, verify charts, and assist the surgical team with gowning and gloving. Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants. Assist with surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments, and supplies). Hold retractors, cut sutures, and support the surgical team as directed. Prepare, label, and properly handle specimens for laboratory analysis. Operate sterilizers, suction devices, surgical lights, and other diagnostic equipment as needed. Assist with patient transfer to the recovery area post-procedure. Clean, disinfect, and restock the operating room following surgery. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan. Understanding of growth and developmental principles and the ability to assess patient needs accordingly. Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures. Effective communication skills and ability to follow established channels of communication. Ability to maintain professional and collaborative relationships with patients, physicians, and healthcare team members. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Education & Experience Requirements Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of two (2) years of Surgical Technologist experience preferred. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan.
