About The Position

The Surgical Technologist serves as a primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures. This full-time position requires working Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with on-call duties one night a week and every fourth weekend.

Requirements

• Technical Diploma from a Surgical Technologist accredited program or comparable military training.
• Certified Surgical Tech (CST) certification is required.
• Driver’s License.
• Eligibility for Surgical Technologist Certification.

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing into cases and ensuring instruments and supplies are available for the scheduled case.
• Setting up cases ensuring that all instruments are thoroughly sterilized and maintaining the sterile field during case setup.
• Assisting the physician to cut suture material and applying electrocautery to clamps on bleeders under the direct supervision of the surgeon.
• Responsible for gross decontamination of instruments including breaking down instruments for further cleaning in Central Sterile Processing.
• Collaborating with the circulating nurse to carry out appropriate interventions.
