Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program and hold current certification with one of the following: The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing, or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Service.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Technical/Vocational degree
• One (1) year operating room experience

Responsibilities

• Functions as primary scrub technologist for a variety of routine and complex procedures.
• Demonstrates clinical skills with confidence and competence.
• Ensures maintenance of the sterile field along with other surgical team members.
• Applies aseptic technique principles to ensure a safe, aseptic, and cost-effective environment for all patients.
